What happened to HeadSmart?
If you’re looking for HeadSmart, you’re in the right place. HeadSmart was the name of our pioneering campaign to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of brain tumours in children and young people.
Today, HeadSmart continues under a new name: Better Safe Than Tumour, powered by The Brain Tumour Charity. We’ve evolved, expanded, and modernised the campaign to ensure even more young people and parents are empowered with lifesaving information. While the HeadSmart campaign played a vital role in our history, all of its key information, insights, and goals live on here at Better Safe Than Tumour.
If you found us by searching for HeadSmart, please know that this is the official and updated home of that work. Any site using the HeadSmart name, other than Better Safe Than Tumour and The Brain Tumour Charity, is not affiliated with us and might not provide accurate or safe information.
Stay informed. Stay empowered. Stay Better Safe Than Tumour.
What’s the difference between HeadSmart and Better Safe Than Tumour?
Better Safe Than Tumour is the next level of HeadSmart. It provides a much deeper and more interactive experience, helping you to better understand the signs and symptoms of brain tumours.
The Better Safe Than Tumour website offers an interactive symptom checker. This allows you to select options specific to the person experiencing the symptoms to deliver more personalised information.
The general signs and symptoms information area has also been updated, offering a more in-depth look at the signs and symptoms of brain tumours than the HeadSmart site did. This allows you to select the age group of the person experiencing symptoms and access more information about each symptom. This way, you can be sure that’s what’s being experienced.
The new website also offers guidance for healthcare professionals. Here they can access resources to better understand and recognise brain tumour signs and symptoms.
There’s also the option to download an awareness pack, helping everyone spread the word. More knowledge of the signs and symptoms of brain tumours could lead to faster diagnosis. And this could reduce the impact of this terrible disease.
We hope this site is informative, useful, and impactful. And, remember, if you think you or a loved one has a brain tumour, see your GP to discuss this.
Better Safe Than Tumour is the original and official home of HeadSmart.
